چکیده
The rapid increase of bacterial resistance strains to multiple antibiotics has become a global public health concern. In the present study, actinomycetes from different districts Libyan soil were isolated and screened for their inhibitory activity against pathogenic bacteria fungi. Three hundred samples taken 77 diverse ecosystems, including deserts, forests, pastureland, cropland located in climatic regions Libya. A total 164 obtained. Of isolates, 38 (23.2%) isolates morphologically microscopically characterized by spore chain surface morphology, aerial substrate mycelia soluble pigments. preliminary classification illustrates that all belong genus Streptomyces. These further examined antagonistic potential nine Out 38, 11 (28.9%) showed capability produce substances at least two tested strains. Among strains, Staphylococcus aureus was susceptible almost eleven (90.9%), while Streptococcus pyogenes found be resistant most selected (18.2%). isolate, 063 (Wadan soil-desert zone) only isolate exhibited broad spectrum antimicrobial microbes, hence study. According its cultural, morphological, physiological, biochemical characteristics, identified as Streptomyces rochei. results obtained indicate soil, particularly extreme environments, could potent source bioactive metabolites with potency wide variety microbial pathogens. Thus, this investigation suggested exploring new habitats unexplored untapped Libya provide promising biologically active compounds therapeutic applications.

Isolation, antifungal activity and characterization of soil actinomycetes
Actinomycetes were isolated from eight samples of two different habitats, i.e., garden soil and cultivated field soil. Isolation of actinomycetes was carried out on soil extract agar medium using serial dilution method and forty seven isolates were obtained. All these actinomycetes were then assessed for their antifungal activity against two fungal pathogens i.e., Candida albicans and Aspergill...
